Introduction
"Bajlo Tomar Aalor Benu" a Bengali would wake up at 4:00 clock on Saturday from anypart of the world, to listen to this, in radio. There is an amazing nostalgia, centering this Durga Puja.
Mahalaya:
One would see, people remembering about the departed souls and offering "Tarpan". Specially for the city of joy, counting the remaining days for their biggest festival starts now. With years passing by and bongs becoming a global race, one can find Durga Puja at any part of the world. Among the diaspora in various countries, this is the time to call their relatives in India and greet them.Life @ Durga Puja:
The ambience of Pujo at West Bengal almost begins from today. Children making their plans to keep their books aside and talk about pandal hopping. Office goers finishing their work, working extra hours, so that they can enjoy the moment to the fullest. Shops are flooded with last minute buyers and fast food centers making their arrangements to put their stalls at a suitable place.

Bong Culture:
Durga Puja has seen an extra mile in bong sentiments. They cherish the home coming of Devi Uma to their house as if she belongs here and crying at the time of Dashami, when she leaves. Our celebrities are also preoccupied during this period. Performing shows at different places. Holding hands of your loved ones and roaming around various pandals and Devi darshan are something which starts coming in our minds now.Food @ Puja:
The Classic Phuchka and epic Egg roll are something to die for. Dunochi Naach, Sankh Bajano and Sondhi pujo are something which gathers the crowd like a movie in theaters. Meeting your childhood friends after long years and spending time together in chatting (a.k.a adda) and eating Mughlai are something which even time cannot remind us that it has passed by.
I think Durga Puja is a festival which has become a part of our life. Without it, life of a bong is inevitable. That's why we always say at the end "Asche Bochor Abar Hobe"
